Superior Livestock Auction’s June 1st Video Auction

Superior Livestock Auction hosted its bi-monthly June 1st Video Auction from their studio in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards, their last Fort Worth auction prior to hitting the road for their summer auction tour. Cattle producers offered 18,600 head of calves, yearlings and breeding stock from 21 states for this auction. Superior Livestock went live at 7:30am CT with Superior Sunrise and the auction followed at 8am CT. This June 1st Video Auction was broadcast live on DISH channel 232 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction's Click To Bid website. Yesterday's auction offered a surprising upward trending market recap. While still riding on the spring peak of the current market activity producers are encouraged to take advantage and price fall delivery cattle before seasonal pressure set in.

This offering relieved another impressive market recap, yearling steers were $4 to $7 higher and yearling heifers saw an increase of $3 to $6. Weaned steer calves also had a substantial increase of $8 to $12 and weaned heifer calves were also up $5 to $10. Calves on cows were steady to $10-$12 higher from Superior's last offering. There was an impressive demand for Florida calves consigned to this auction which saw an increase of $10 to $15 higher.

Join Superior Livestock for their next offering, the Corn Belt Classic live from the Ameristar Hotel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Please note a change in start time for this offering, the auction will start each day daily at 9AM CT. Not only is 2017 Superior Livestock Auction's 30th year but it is also bringing some changes; in 2017 all regular bi-monthly video auctions will move to Thursdays to help better address the needs of Superior's increasing seller and buyer base. Superior Livestock's newest online timed auction format, Country Page Countdown, will their next offering will be May 25th featuring a special fall delivery calves section on superiorclicktobid.com.
