Thu, 04 Apr 2019 09:21:07 CDT
A unique event is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th at 11:00 am at the Oklahoma National Stockyards. Almost 80 of the best Longhorn genetics from across the United States will be offered at auction at the second annual Longhorn Opportunities Sale.
"These hardy yet beautiful animals embody the spirit of the American west, and we are thrilled to host the sale for 2019" says Kelli Payne, Yards Liaison for the Oklahoma National Stockyards. "Additionally, this is a wonderful opportunity to show the consignors and attendees our historic business district and provide them with a dose of western hospitality!"
Justin Rombeck, coordinator of the Longhorn Opportunities sale, is excited about having the auction in Oklahoma City. "Combining the history of the Longhorns with one of the oldest and continually running livestock markets in the world is really extraordinary. We've been looking forward to this for over six months!"
A special part of the auction will be a fundraiser to benefit The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital located in Bethany. The Rombeck family will donate a heifer to be continually auctioned as a way to raise money to benefit the many programs.
"We appreciate Justin and Amanda Rombeck with JBR Longhorns LLC & Bar R Cattle Company, for allowing us to benefit from Bar R Royally Spicey's sale. It's generosity like theirs that allows The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital to serve thousands of children throughout the state and region. We are also thankful for the Oklahoma National Stockyards for hosting and promoting this great event" said Albert Gray, Chief Executive Officer of The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital.
The Oklahoma National Stockyards has been in business since 1910, and is located at 2501 Exchange Avenue in Oklahoma City.
Sponsors for the event include Carpenter Hay and Cattle, Spartan ZTR Mowers, National Saddlery, Grain & Grange, Shorty's Caboy Hattery, Little Joe's Boots, McClintock Saloon, Heather's Stockyards Café and Rodeo Opry.
For additional information regarding the auction, please contact Justin Rombeck at 816-536-1083 or Kelli Payne at 405-996-0435.
