Final Deadline to Enter Cattle for National Junior Shorthorn Show & Youth Conference Coming May 15

The National Junior Shorthorn Show & Youth Conference will be held June 17-21, 2019 in Lebanon, Tennessee.
NJSS participants must be members of the American Junior Shorthorn Association. The final deadline for cattle entry is May 15.
There are a variety of contests at NJSS for participants to compete in including individual and team contests; arts & crafts, cattleman's written test, graphic design, livestock judging, photography, poster, showmanship, speech, extemporaneous speech, beef cook-off, herdsman quiz bowl, team fitting and team salesmanship.
"Each year we have strong participation in all our contests," said Shelby Rogers, ASA Director of Youth Activities. "It continues to grow even as we add new contests. We are eager to see how our participation is this year in Lebanon."
On Friday, June 21, there will be a Purebred Bred & Owned Show, ShorthornPlus Bred & Owned Show, Purebred Bred & Owned Bull Show, ShorthornPlus Owned Female Show, ShorthornPlus Steer Show and Purebred Steer Show. On Saturday, June 22, the Purebred Owned Show will take place.
"The junior board is very excited for the junior national this year," said Jake Nikkel, AJSA board president. "Our theme is Strumming a Shorthorn Tune and we have been working hard to make sure our activities fit with the music theme. This year Confederate Railroad will be performing a live concert for exhibitors!"
