Millions of dollars available for on-farm conservation. Deadline approaching soon!
Tue, 03 Mar 2020 11:41:43 CST
Today, the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) released an information alert for farmers and ranchers interested in renewing their Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) contracts.
This information alert provides comprehensive planning assistance for those who enrolled in CSP in 2014, 2015, or 2016 and wish to renew those contracts, as well as those wishing to enroll in CSP for the first time.
"With the first deadline coming up Friday, March 13, it is important for farmers to get started on their CSP applications if they haven't already," said Michael Happ, Policy Specialist at NSAC. "Farmers and ranchers have more work than hours in the day, so NSAC has put together an easy to understand, easy to use, tool they can use to write a successful renewal or enrollment for the first time."
To renew CSP contracts (beginning 2014, 2015, or 2016), there are two deadlines:
To extend a 2015 (only) contract for one additional year: apply by March 13, 2020
For all three years, to compete for a new 5-year renewal contract: apply by March 20, 2020
To enroll in CSP for the first time:
Each state has its own deadline beginning anytime after May 29, 2020, most likely in June.
Check with your State NRCS Office for your state-specific details!
