Cattle Sharply Higher at Joplin Regional Stockyards on Monday

Compared to a light test last week, steers under 700 lbs 15.00 to 25.00 higher, heifers under 700 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 higher, steers and heifers over 700 lbs not well tested last week for a good price comparison, undertone sharply higher. Demand very good, supply light. The recent USDA Cattle On Feed showed 100 percent On Feed, Placements 92 percent, Marketing 105 percent. Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle closed up the limit. Consumer demand pushing Box Beef close to it's high. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 37% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 60%.
