OKC West Offers Second Chance to OYE Steers with Carcass Competition
Thu, 19 Mar 2020 11:42:43 CDT
OKC West is deeply saddened by the events that Covid-19 has caused that eventually closed down the market animal show at OYE. Although the staff at OYE did everything in their power for the show to continue the inevitable happened and left these market steers unable to be shown. We at OKC West would like to promote a true market value of these steers and offer up awards for the top carcasses.
$1000 Grand
$750 Res Grand
$250 Bronze
Steers will be brought to OKC West in El Reno, OK, then will be loaded and shipped to a feedyard. They will be fed an additional 30 days and transported to a packing house for the final grading of the carcasses. The exhibitors will be paid upon the grading of the carcasses for actual market value of their steer.
This will be an opportunity for the OYE exhibitors to sell their animal and see the actual results of the grading process.
We at OKC West are dedicated to helping the youth of Oklahoma and welcome this opportunity to assist in marketing these animals during these difficult circumstances, as well as provide a bonus for the top three carcasses.
Exhibitors must sign an affidavit provided from the feedyard. Steer must have OYE ear tag for identification.
The additional expenses (trucking, cost of feed, beef pro, any extra expense from the packing house to judge carcasses) will be deducted from the exhibitors check Animals are to be recieved at Okc west no later than 12:00pm Wednesday March 25 Jason Cooper 405-826-5086
