Sun, 01 Jan 2023 15:03:12 CST
The third Cattlemen's Congress is underway at the OKC Farigrounds and Executive Vice President of the show, Bray Haven, is pleased with how the opening weekend has gone. Haven tells Oklahoma Farm Report's Ron Hays that "lots of people moving in- the weather is going great- and that always helps everything" and invites cattle producers from across the region to come in as the show ramps up and see the many different cattle breeds that are showing and having sales of top genetics representing their part of the beef cattle industry. "it's neat to see people from literally all over North America flooding into Oklahoma City from commerce to displaying good cattle- it's exciting times here at the Oklahoma City fairgrounds.
Haven adds "we have something for everybody- and that is what our message has been- there are cattle here for just about anybody- whether you have a 150 to 200 head herd in western Oklahoma or a hobby farm with 20 or 30 herd- whatever it might be- there is something here for you."
And that includes the Trade Show. He says there is a lot to see there as well- "Just walking around- you can enjoy boutiques, western apparel, livestock equipment, livestock feed and supplements and more in addition to seeing a lot of great cattle."
