Talking Floods, 4-H and Youth with Oklahoma State Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur
Fri, 14 Jun 2019 10:32:51 CDTRadio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays had the opportunity to sit down on Friday, June 14th, and talk about several topics- including what she learned earlier in the week as she traveled to eastern Oklahoma and talked firsthand with producers about flood damage on their operation. She sees her role(and the Agency's role) as being an advocate for those producers in helping them deal with federal disaster and conservation programs that can help them bounce back from the devastating and historic floods of recent weeks.
Secretary Arthur was also on hand Thursday when Google officials were in Mayes County announcing the expansion of their facility there- and also committing six million dollars to 4-H for STEM related programs.
And- we ended our conversation by talking about what's ahead for the Secretary's Youth Council, which will be meeting for the first time in August.
