Sirloin Club Event Raises Bucks for 2019 OYE- and Offers First Look at Academic All State Honorees In three weeks, livestock will be arriving at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City for the 2019 edition of the Oklahoma Youth Expo- and one of the events leading up to the Greatest Show on Earth is the annual Sirloin Club of Oklahoma's Dinner and Chalice Auction held at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. This event is used to reveal who that year's Show Honoree will be, provides a first look at the young men and women who will be given the top scholarships at the show (including the Academic All State Honors) and gives members of the Sirloin Club and other supporters of the show the opportunity to bid on silent and live auction items to help support 4-H and FFA members that are involved in that year's show. The hardware that will be given to the top winners in the Market Animal Division are also on display and the rights to have your business name attached to that chalice that will be given to the owners of the top animals are auctioned off.

The 2019 auction generated $85,000 to support the upcoming Oklahoma Youth Expo, with the Grand Champion Chalices being auctioned off to the following supporters:

Grand Champion Market Steer- $9,500- Oklahoma Farm Bureau

Grand Champion Market Barrow- $5,500- AFR

Grand Champion Market Lamb- $5,000- National Livestock Credit

Grand Champion Market Goat- $7,000- Friends of Jack Staats, the 2019 Show Honoree and the Goat Show Superintendent.- Click here for our earlier story spotlighting Jack Staats.

Ten High School Seniors have been named as a part of the 2019 Academic All State team- they will lead a parade of scholarship winners announced on March 21st just ahead of the selection of the Grand Champion Market Animal Selection. The ten highest achievers include:

Rio Bonham, Madill FFA
