The 2019 Oklahoma Youth Expo Monday Morning Recap- March 18, 2019 Already, we have had thousands of animals coming and then being loaded out over the opening weekend of the world's largest junior livestock show- the Oklahoma Youth Expo.

Our thanks to ITC, Your Energy Superhighway for sponsoring our coverage of the 2019 event.

As we reported to you at the end of this past week- the gilt show led off the 2019 OYE- and lots has been added to the mix since the opening of the show schedule last Thursday.

The Supreme Champion selected at State Fair Park was in the Commercial Gilt category- and a pair of 4-Hers led the way as young Berkley McKay of Mulhall-Orlando 4-H took top honors- winning the Supreme Champion Commercial Gilt title. She earns the right to have the first slot at the Night of Stars Gilt Show on Wednesday evening in Barn 8- and online.

The Reserve Supreme Commercial Gilt was shown by Adison Thompson of Noble. Click or tap here for the full story on the Commercial Gilt show that concluded last Friday.

Up next was the Purebred Gilt Show- and Al Schminke of Iowa lined up all eight breeds and then selected the Spot Champion as the Supreme Champion of the Show- owned and shown by Kade Pendley of Cyril FFA. The Reserve Supreme Champion was shown by Grace Lambert of Chattanooga FFA. Grace was exhibiting the Champion Berkshire Gilt.

Click or tap here for all the details from the Purebred show- including a complete list of the Breed Champs and Reserves.

Happening at about the same time as the conclusion of the Hog show was the Doe Kid competition- and that saw the Champ in the Heavyweight Division- Division Four- winning Supreme Honors- that Doe was shown by Sydney Bean from Newcastle FFA - whole the Reserve was shown by Jaycee Watkins of Allen FFA.

The Beef Heifers started showing on Sunday afternoon- and continue this morning in the Arena- we will have complete details on those winners tomorrow morning in our email- and later today on our website in the Blue Green Gazette.

Besides the Beef Heifers wrapping up things today- the Swine Showmanship and Sheep Showmanship will be happening today- and the Breeding Ewe Show gets going today as well.

And once the Heifers finish the show- they will be exiting Stage Left.
