Perkins Tryon FFA Takes Top Team Honors in Commercial Cattle Grading at Southern Plains Farm Show

Almost $7,000 in prizes and scholarships were handed out on the opening day of the 2011 Southern Plains Farm Show- given to 4-H and FFA members involved in the Commercial Cattle Grading Contest.
The top 4-H teams were first place, Nowata 4-H; Second Place- Rogers County Team #3 and Third Place- Crescent 4-H. High individuals in the 4-H division included Third Place- Aeschili Truesdell of Nowata; Second Place- Michaela Branen of Rogers County and First Place in the 4-H Division- Shandee Johnson of Nowata.
The top FFA team (and high team for the contest- they are pictured here)- Perkins-Tryon FFA; Second Place FFA- Nowata Team #11 and Third Place- Nowata Team #10.
The top FFA Grading winners included Third Place- Kelcea Condiff, Perkins Tryon; Second Place- Kent Williams, Perkins Tryon and First Place in the FFA division and high individual in the contest- Kyle Kester, Nowata FFA.
Kester received the Rick Jones memorial Scholarship given by OKC West Livestock Market in El Reno, Oklahoma.
