President of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Says We Need Implementation of Free Trade Deals to Stay Competitive
Fri, 13 May 2011 6:49:45 CDT
Speaking before the House Agriculture Committee, National Cattlemen's Beef Association President Bill Donald said - now is the time to begin the implementation process in order to secure critical market share. He said time is of the essence "because as a cattle producer, I'm competing with other cattlemen in the European Union, Australia, Canada, Argentina and Brazil and we're all courting the same consumer base." Donald said - the beef industry is not asking for a handout from Washington. We just want the opportunity to compete for consumers in Korea, Colombia and Panama.
We have comments from Bill Donald after he spent time on Capitol Hill on Thursday offering his testimony to the House Ag Committee. We talk with him about the need to get all three trade deals done and sent to Congress sooner rather than later. Donald is our guest on today's Beef Buzz.
The Beef Buzz is a regular feature heard on radio stations around the state on the Radio Oklahoma Network- but is also a regular audio feature found on this website as well.
