Grassley Responds to FTA Movement
Wed, 04 May 2011 17:44:09 CDT
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley calls the Administration's agreement to move forward with technical discussions with Congress on all three pending trade agreements with the United States very good news for U.S. export production and the jobs they support. The agreements are with Colombia, Korea and Panama.
Grassley was quick to point out the Korea trade agreement, once fully implemented, could increase U.S. agricultural exports to Korea by 1.9-billion dollars. As a result, Korea is expected to absorb five-percent of total U.S. pork production.
