Except for a few scattered acres across the northern parts of the state of Oklahoma, the 2011 Wheat Harvest is done. According to the Weekly Crop Progress Report released on Monday afternoon by the USDA, Oklahoma farmers have now harvested 96% of their wheat crop that they planned on harvesting this season. Texas made good progress- mostly in the Panhandle as they advanced 18 percentage points to 89% harvested as of the weekend.
Making even more rapid progress- the state of Kansas saw their wheat harvest progress double from 27% complete a week ago to 55% done as we start this week. Click here for the latest on the Kansas Wheat Harvest from the Kansas Wheat Growers and the Kansas Wheat Commission.
Nationally, the 2011 wheat harvest is now 44% harvested versus the five year average of 37%.
