Tulsa Farm Show Begins Three Day Run at Quik Trip Center in Tulsa
Thu, 08 Dec 2011 06:06:15 CST
The 18th annual Tulsa Farm Show is ready to begin its three day run at 9 AM Thursday morning at the Quik Trip Center on the Tulsa Fairgrounds. This December tradition has evolved into one of the largest all indoor farm shows in the country- Midwest Farm Shows Marketing Manager John Sampson calls it the third largest all indoor farm show in the country- and will feature 300 exhibitors offering a wide variety of goods and services that can make the farm or ranch a better place to live and work on.
It's not just static exhibits- there are demonstrations daily of livestock handling equipment- there's Craig Cameron of Texas back for his twice a day horse training sessions- farm safety demonstrations and instruction from the Oklahoma Farm Bureau- private treaty cattle sales and the annual Livestock Handling Skills Contest offering scholarship money to the FFA members paricipating.
You can stock up on work gloves- talk to the leading livestock marketers in the region- compare feeds and nutrients for your livestock- kick the tires on every size of tractor that you can imagine- and likely say howdy to one or more friends that are at the show the same day that you go.Admission and parking are free- as they have always been at this annual gathering.
John Sampson tells us that he has been around for 17 of the 18 Tulsa Farm Shows- and we talked with him on the eve of the three day event. We talked with him about the 2011 show- the mix of exhibitors at this show compared to their corn belt shows that Midwest operates- and get his feel for the attitude of farmers and those in agribusiness in other parts of the country from shows they have operated earlier here in 2011.
