Fri, 28 Sep 2012 08:13:01 CDT
The USDA released the Quarterly Grain Stocks report showing a lower corn September 1 stock number than what the trade was expecting. USDA came in at the 981 million bushel figure for the corn, giving a surge to the corn market.
Soybeans were expected to be lower at 132 million, but came in higher than expected at 169 million bushels.
The wheat number also came in lower than expected at 2.103 billion bushels, but still well above a year ago at this time.
The final wheat production numbers also came out this morning, September 28, 2012, showing all wheat at 2.69 billion bushels, all winter wheat came in at 1.65 billion, less than what was expected.
According to Tom Leffler of Leffler Commodities, the number look friendly for corn and soybeans, not as friendly for the wheat. You can hear our conversation with Tom by clicking on the listening bar at the bottom of the page.
