Rainfall Totals for the Week- The Latest Maps
Thu, 18 Jul 2013 05:37:43 CDT
Rainfall totals have been impressive in a large hunk of Oklahoma- although eastern counties and some locations in northwestern Oklahoma have gotten limited amounts of precipitation. The map above shows that the Oklahoma Mesonet has their communication problems fixed with their reporting stations- and that a lot of Mesonet locations came in at three inches of rainfall or more.
Some of this rainfall came around in the last twenty four hours or so- the reading at Tipton of just over three inches was not there a couple of days ago- and in face, one farmer friend told us in Enid at the Winter Canola Conference on Wednesday that he had talked with a relative that lives in Tipton and that at their particular rain gauge- they had dumped seven inches of rain from this latest system.
There will be a chance for a few scattered showers today- but the rain is coming to an end and the heat is coming in quickly behind the rain making system- it will be into the mid 90s today in Green Country and close to a hundred in many locations by next week.
While Oklahoma got some nice rains since this past Sunday morning from this unusual storm system that rolled into the state, our neighbors in Texas saw even more rainfall in the heart of their state. The graphic below shows off that level of moisture.
