Mon, 30 Sep 2013 11:30:59 CDT
The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will host a Waterfowl Management Tour from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, beginning at the Noble Foundation Agricultural Division Building.
The waterfowl tour will showcase resource management techniques that improve habitat necessary for ducks, geese and similar birds. Tour stops will include livestock water ponds, recreational ponds and managed wetlands. Noble Foundation agricultural consultants will discuss wood duck nest boxes, important vegetation, water control structures and livestock water access points.
"Waterfowl are popular and important to many wildlife enthusiasts," said Will Moseley, wildlife and fisheries consultant. "
This tour will be an interactive way to learn key information. Most of the techniques we demonstrate can be easily implemented by producers or anyone interested in waterfowl." This tour is open to the public and offered at no charge. However, preregistration is requested. For more information or to register, please visit www.noble.org/agevents or contact Jackie Kelley at 580.224.6360.
