Tue, 31 Dec 2013 15:07:06 CST
Kay and Noble County Conservation Districts and their respective Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Farm Service Agencies (FSA), and OSU Extension offices are joining together to hold their sixth Women in Agriculture Conference on February 12, 2014 from 8:30am to 3:00pm in the Renfro Center on the Northern Oklahoma College campus in Tonkawa. Past conferences have drawn nearly 200 participants. The theme will be "Strong Roots-Bright Future."
"We are very excited about our two keynote speakers for the upcoming conference. Leading off the morning will be Dr. Shannon Ferrell, Ag Law Professor from Oklahoma State University, speaking on 'Farm Transitions to the Next Generation,' " reports Susan Henning, conference chairman. Since the inception of the Women in Ag Conference in 2005, estate planning has been a popular and much-requested topic for all farm families. "We are also privileged that Dr. Christine Rattin, a heart specialist with the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, is making time in her busy schedule to present information on Women's Heart Health."
A $15 pre-registration fee per person (the same as in past years) will include the luncheon and conference happenings. Forms are available by email by calling or emailing your local county conservation district office: Kay County (580-362-2438) kayccd@conservation.ok.gov or Noble County (580-336-2003) nobleccd@conservation.ok.gov. Conference information and registration forms may also be found on the website: http://www.kaycountyconservation.com/Meetings_and_Events.html
Pre-registration is due by February 5, 2014.
