Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 01/27/2014


   


Actual Receipts: 8406   Last Monday: 14,150 Year Ago Monday: 6303

Compared to last week: Feeder steers mostly steady to 1.00 lower. Feeder heifers mostly steady. Steer and heifer calves steady in a light test. Demand moderate to good following the negative Cattle on Feed Report and 3 days of lower cattle futures. Quality plain thru attractive. Strong cold front blew in Sunday night dropping temperatures some 40 degrees from the mid 60's over the weekend. Strong winds and very low humidity's continue to dry out wheat pastures that are already in need of moisture. Receipts this week totaled 74 percent over 600 lbs and 33 percent heifers.
