Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 02/04/2014


   

Estimated Receipts: 3000   Last Monday: 8406    Year Ago Monday: 6914

Compared to last week: All classes of feeder cattle and calves opening mostly steady. Demand moderate to good. A strong winter storm blew in over the weekend and is expected to be extremely cold for the remainder of the week. Strong winds and very low humidity's continue to dry out wheat pastures that are already in need of moisture. Quality mostly average.

Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Calves: lot 470 lbs 208.00; 535-600 lbs 190.00-203.00; lot 690 lbs 170.50; lot 765 lbs 160.00. Yearlings: 600-675 lbs 172.50-187.50; 700-765 lbs 162.50-170.00; 830-870 lbs 157.00-164.00; 900-950 lbs 155.00-157.00.

Feeder Heifers Medium and Large 1: Calves: 500-550 lbs 175.00-180.00; 550-600 lbs 164.00-176.00; 725-800 lbs 149.00-150.00. Yearlings: 650-700 lbs 158.50-164.50; 725-785 lbs 151.50-159.00.
