Oklahoma Sorghum Seeking USCP Board Candidates

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced two at-large positions will become vacant in December 2014 on the United Sorghum Checkoff Program board of directors. The Oklahoma Sorghum Commission and the Oklahoma Sorghum Association are certified producer organizations accredited by USDA that are collectively seeking sorghum producers interested in serving on the Sorghum Checkoff board.
In accordance with USDA statute, persons interested in being nominated to the Sorghum Checkoff board must complete and submit two forms: Form AD-755 Advisory Committee Membership Background Information and the Nominee's Agreement to Serve Form. You may fill out the attached forms or both can be found at www.ams.usda.gov/lsmarketingprograms by selecting Sorghum Program then Sorghum Program Forms under Resources in the right column.
Completed applications must be returned by 5:00 p.m. April 25, 2014, to the Oklahoma Sorghum Commission, 4201 N Interstate 27, Lubbock, Texas 79403. You may also fax the forms to 806-749-9002 or email them to jennifer@sorghumgrowers.com.
USDA encourages board membership that reflects the diversity of the individuals served by its industry. Diversity includes gender, race, disability, length of service, and size and type of operation.
Upon review of applications, the Oklahoma Sorghum Commission and Oklahoma Sorghum Association may jointly nominate up to two producers for each vacancy and forward nominees to USDA for appointment by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.
