Weekly boxed beef trade for week ending Jul 19
Mon, 21 Jul 2014 11:29:59 CDTThe daily spot Choice box beef cutout ended the week last Fri at 248.45 which was 3.34 lwr than the previous week loosing most of that on Thu and Friday. There were 833 loads sold for the week in the daily box beef cutout, and was about 13 percent of the total volume.
The Comprehensive or weekly avg Ch cutout which includes all types of sales was 245.74 which was 1.28 higher, and makes a new all-time high again.
The total reported Box Beef volume of 6584 loads was 282 loads less than the previous week.
Exports continue to slip and were at 659 loads which was 90 loads lwr than last week. The formula sales were lower also and were at 3313 loads which was about 50 percent of the total loads sold and 443 loads less than last week.
The out-front sales were 973 loads which was 37 loads less than the prev week but still way below previous years and averaged 1275 for most of Jul last yr.
------- The Cow Cutout which is a major source of ground beef products ended the week about 28 cents higher and those ninety percent trimmings were 41 cents lower. The cow cutout jumped 32 dollars since Jun 1 but appears to be in a more of a sideways trading pattern now.
