Oklahoma National Stockyards- Midsession 08-04-2014 Oklahoma National Stockyards, Oklahoma City, OK - Add Mid-Session
Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 08/04/2014

Estimated Receipts: 5300     Last Monday: 4782     Year Ago Monday: 4827

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 2.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers
lightly tested and limited sales steady. Demand remains very good as
numbers continue limited. Steer and heifer calves mostly 6.00 to 10.00
higher. Quality typical of the summer, plain to average. Slaughter
cattle prices met some resistance late last week as cattle futures showed
some signs of a weakening market. Never-the-less light numbers continue
to control the direction of the market. Weather has turned more like summer
and humid and in the mid 90's.
