Oklahoma National Stockyards - Add Mid-Session

Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 12/08/2014

Estimated Receipts: 7000     Last Monday: 5173     Year Ago Monday: No Sale

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly steady to 2.00 lower. Steer calves mostly 3.00 to 6.00 higher. Heifer calves traded 1.00 to 2.00 lower. Feeder cattle trends followed the board, as CME Feeder Cattle and Live cattle futures closed down the limit on the front two months. Quality was plain to attractive. Flesh condition remains very important to buyers, with thin fleshed cattle topping the market as producers are looking to capitalize on compensatory gain going to wheat. Temperatures will remain in the 50's and 60's throughout the week.
