Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/19/2015

Receipts this Week: 11,068   Last Week: 7,936   Last Year: 11,782

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2.00-5.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves lightly tested and few sales are steady. Demand is good for all classes. Markets improved last week as cattle futures rose and slaughter cattle prices moved sharply higher late last Friday. Weather remains very dry in Central Oklahoma but rain is in the extended forecast. Feeder cattle in medium to fleshy conditions with average to full weigh-ups. Supply very unusual of a fall run with more feeder cattle than calves included. Supply included 68 percent over 600 lbs. and 36 percent heifers.
   Slaughter cows 1.00-3.00 lower. Slaughter bulls 2.00-3.00 lower. Packer demand moderate. Total of 643 cows and bulls sold with 30 percent going to slaughter.
