Statement of NCFC President and CEO Chuck Conner on Agriculture Climate Provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act

"The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives applauds the increased funding to support climate-smart agriculture through voluntary working lands conservation programs and technical assistance to producers contained in the Inflation Reduction Act. This investment in the future is needed to help America’s farmers, ranchers and growers explore and adopt innovative approaches to production to help address the challenge of climate change. It will also help provide the resources needed to ensure a strong conservation title in the 2023 farm bill. Finally, we would also like to recognize the leadership of Senate Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) in helping to secure this funding throughout the budget reconciliation process.”
