Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 2/6/2017

Receipts: 6,501    Week ago:    10,581    Year ago: 6,186

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers steady to 6.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves sold 1.00-4.00 higher with instances of 6.00 higher on heifer calves. Demand good. Quality average to attractive. Demand for lightweight calves remains particularly good. Optimism was present once again in the overall demand as pen space becomes more available despite the large numbers predicted in the Cattle on Feed report. Feeder supply included 64 percent Steers, 34 percent Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 72 percent.
