Reviewing an Exceptional 2014 and What is Ahead for 2015 in the Beef Cattle Business- Dr. Glynn Tonsor
Sun, 11 Jan 2015 16:31:19 CST
Tight beef supplies and strong demand added up in 2014- and resulted in this past year being an exceptional year for most segments of the Beef Cattle business. That's how Kansas State University Livestock Economist Dr. Glynn Tonsor describes this past year- and he thinks some of the same things observed in 2014 will continue in 2015- as he sees more profits for at least the cow calf sector.
Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays talked with Tonsor in advance of his Sunday afternoon presentation at the 2015 American Farm Bureau Federation Convention in San Diego, California. Tonsor talked about the exceptional year that 2014 was- what 2015 holds in store for the beef cattle industry, falling energy prices and how that may provide more dollars for meat purchases in the months to come, rebuilding of the beef cow herd and Country of Origin labeling and what the end game of that government policy may be.
